Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 22, 2026 · Effective: September 22, 2026

1. Who We Are

1.1 ImageRemoval ("we", "us", "our") operates the AI background removal service available at imageremoval.shop (the "Service").

1.2 For the purposes of the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

1.3 You can reach us about any privacy matter at support@imageremoval.shop.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 We only collect what is necessary to run the Service:

  • Account information: when you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, your display name, and your profile picture URL. We never receive your Google password. We do not ask for or store a phone number.
  • Usage records: processing timestamps, number of images processed, and your remaining plan credits or days.
  • Order information: order number, amount, currency, payment status, and the payment provider's transaction reference. Card and bank details are handled entirely by PayPal — we never see or store them.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser type, and operating system, used for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate usage statistics.

2.2 We do not collect your precise geolocation, contacts, photo library, or any personal data unrelated to providing the Service.

3. Image Data Processing

3.1 The images you upload are processed only temporarily. They are transmitted to the AI processing engine to perform the cutout, the result is returned to you, and the image is discarded immediately afterwards. We do not write your images to disk or to a database.

3.2 We do not do any of the following with your images:

  • Use them to train AI models
  • Sell, rent, license, or share them with third parties for their own purposes
  • Publish or publicly display them
  • Use them for any purpose other than producing the result you requested

3.3 The processed result image is delivered to your browser for download. It is not kept on our servers.

4. How and Why We Use Information (Legal Bases)

4.1 We process personal data for the following purposes and, where the GDPR applies, on the following legal bases:

PurposeLegal basis

Processing payments and preventing payment fraudPerformance of a contract; legitimate interests
Security, abuse prevention, rate limitingLegitimate interests
Service-related notices (plan expiry, material changes)Performance of a contract
Optional analyticsConsent, where required by law

4.2 We will not use your personal data for any purpose beyond those listed above without your consent, and we do not sell your personal data.

5. Sharing and International Transfers

5.1 We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with the service providers needed to operate the Service:

  • AI processing provider: your uploaded image is transmitted to our background-removal processing provider, which returns the cutout result. Images are used solely to produce your result.
  • Payment provider: we share order details (order number, amount, currency) with PayPal to process your payment and to confirm it was completed.
  • Hosting and infrastructure: our Service runs on Cloudflare's global network, which also handles content delivery and network-level security.

5.2 International transfers. Our providers may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States and, for AI image processing, in mainland China. Where personal data is transferred out of the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or we transfer only what is necessary for the purpose at hand. Images are transferred for processing only and are not retained.

5.3 We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or where necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the public.

6. How Long We Keep Information

  • Uploaded images: not retained. Discarded as soon as processing completes.
  • Account data: kept while your account is active, and deleted within 30 days after you delete your account.
  • Order and payment records: kept as long as required for tax, accounting, and chargeback purposes (typically up to 7 years).
  • Processing and security logs: kept for a limited period (generally up to 90 days) and then deleted or aggregated.

7. Cookies and Analytics

7.1 We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to provide core functionality such as counting your usage. These cookies cannot be switched off without breaking the Service.

7.2 We may use aggregate analytics to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. If we use analytics that rely on cookies or similar identifiers (for example Google Analytics), we will enable them only where permitted by law and will obtain your consent first where consent is required.

7.3 We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site behavioural tracking, and we do not sell data to data brokers.

7.4 You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; some features may stop working if you block the necessary ones.

8. Your Rights

8.1 Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights over your personal data:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Restriction and objection: ask us to limit or stop certain processing.
  • Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.
  • Non-discrimination: you will not be treated differently for exercising these rights.

8.2 California residents: you may request disclosure of the categories of personal information we collect and how it is used, request deletion, and request correction. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

8.3 To exercise any of these rights, email support@imageremoval.shop. We aim to respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8.4 You can delete your account at any time from your account dashboard, or by contacting us.

9. Information Security

9.1 We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls over our systems.

9.2 No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to limit what we collect in the first place.

9.3 If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

10. Children's Privacy

10.1 The Service is not intended for children under 13 (or under the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10.2 If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at support@imageremoval.shop and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

11.1 We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide a prominent notice on the Service.

11.2 Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
